Rev. Pam Carey
Greetings. My name is Pam, and I am the new pastor for DUMC. I
grew up on Long Island, and first came to this part of the state to
attend Ithaca College. I got married and my husband, Chris and I
decided that this would be a great place to raise children, so we
settled in Trumansburg. Our three children are grown now.
My husband worked for a time at SUNY Cortland in the Student Health
Center and retired from there several years ago. I attended Colgate
Rochester Divinity School after a long career as a physical therapist,
graduating in 2013. I was commissioned at Annual Conference that
same year and was appointed to serve The United Methodist
Churches in Arkport and Bishopville in the Mountain View district.
Chris and I enjoy the outdoors. He does more serious hiking that I do,
but we both enjoy being outdoors. I also like to garden. When not
outdoors, I enjoy reading and have recently tried my hand at
quilting. In the past few years, I have enjoyed doing some simple
knitting for the organization Knit for Kids with the craft group that
meets at the Arkport UMC. I am looking forward to journeying with
you as we follow Jesus. together.
